On behalf of ASA International Marketing and the United Soybean Board, we are pleased to invite you to the 2nd ASAIM SE Asia Aquaculture Conference 2012. The theme of this year’s meeting is Extrusion, hence for the first time in SE Asia, ASAIM is proud to host the Texas A&M Aquaculture Extrusion Short Course in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from July 8-12, 2012.
Featuring instructors from Texas A&M and industry experts, the 4-day training will focus on extrusion principles and application, extrusion technology, processing techniques for producing quality aqua feed, aquaculture nutrition and feed management practices.
The goal of the first Aquaculture Conference in 2010 was to introduce the major issues in aquaculture pertinent to the industry. ASA-IM has had an intensive aquaculture program in SEA since 2002 and we feel that we have gained special insights into the issues and challenges that the SEA aquaculture industry is facing. These insights have led us to the idea of holding a region-specific meeting for issues relating to the SEA aquaculture industry. Following this introduction, it is appropriate for future ASAIM Aquaculture Conferences to focus on specific topics, begininng with Extrusion. Facilitated by an international group of experts, the ASAIM Southeast Asia Aquaculture Conference is the forum for sharing knowledge and experiences on improved aquaculture technologies and management systems to address food safety concerns, sustainability, and the need for eco-friendly production to maximize feed efficiency and profitability.
All Short Course sessions will be informal. Questions are encouraged during the lectures, breaks, and social periods. Laptops are allowed in the classroom to follow the presentations in the short course eBook manual.
Certificates from TAMU will be issued upon completion of the course.
